The experience

The route follows the Swakop River valley into the Namib, one of the world's oldest deserts. The Moon Landscape itself is a vastly eroded valley where wind has reduced mountains to spectacular formations and sand, creating terrain that looks otherworldly. From there you move into Welwitschia Valley to see thousands of the rare plants scattered across the arid ground, along with lichen varieties adapted to the harsh environment. A stop at a scenic location breaks the drive for a light lunch and drinks before the return.
