Shoot the dunes at their best light with a photographer who knows how to frame them

A professional photography session in Merzouga's Erg Chebbi desert where a guide photographer leads you through sunrise or sunset, capturing landscapes, portraits and candid moments over two hours. You'll walk the dunes, ride a camel if you want, and leave with 80 to 100 raw photos plus 20 edited images delivered within five days. Pickup is included and the guide speaks English.

The experience

The session centers on the dunes at the hours when light works best (sunrise or sunset), so the photographs have the depth and color that make them worth keeping. A professional photographer who specializes in visual storytelling meets you and walks through the landscape with you, showing you how to position yourself, how the light falls on the sand, and where the angles work. You're not posing for a formal shoot. Instead, you move through the dunes naturally while the photographer captures both the deliberate portraits and the unguarded moments that tell the real story of being there.

You'll have time to explore on foot, play with the light as it shifts, and take a camel ride through the dunes if that appeals to you. The photographer handles the technical side (the framing, the exposure, the composition), so you can focus on the experience itself. By the end of the two hours, you'll have around 80 to 100 images on file. Within one to three days, you'll receive the full set as JPEGs. Within three to five days, 20 of those photos come back retouched and polished. You'll also get a reel video on your phone to share right away.

Pickup is included, so you don't arrange transport from your hotel or riad. The guide speaks English and works with individuals, couples, and families: infants are welcome on an adult's lap. If you're traveling without a car or staying in a town away from the desert, the pickup settles the logistics so you show up ready to shoot.
