The Experience

I’ll never forget the way the air changed as we left Fes behind — sharp with mint tea at our first stop in Imouzar, then suddenly crisp and piney as we passed through Ifrane. Next morning was all grit in my teeth and sunrise over sand — worth every grain. Crossing Tizi-n’Tichka Pass into Marrakech felt like waking up after a long dream — noisy again, but in a way that made me miss the hush of the desert already.
