The experience
Seventy-five minutes starts with a welcome drink and a walk through the olive grove, where the guide explains how olive cultivation shaped this region since the Ilirian Empire. You'll see the production phases of extra virgin olive oil as they happen today, moving through the mill itself before settling into the tasting room built into its center. There you taste four different extra virgin oils and learn to recognize their properties: how to spot quality, how each one pairs with different foods, what makes one premium and another ordinary.
The tasting room is where the guide walks you through the oils methodically. You're not just sampling. You're learning the language of olive oil: what to look for on your palate, how to describe what you taste, why these oils cost what they do. Alongside the tasting comes a traditional snack from local producers: Montenegrin bread with olive spreads, fresh salad, corn bread, three types of homemade cheese, dried prosciutto, and organic figs preserved in olive oil. The guide also serves authentic Montenegrian olive leaf extract and natural juice made from wild dogwood.
After the tasting, you move to cocktail crafting with the mill's partners from local distilleries. You make three drinks infused with the oils you just learned to taste, then eat delectable nibbles designed to complement what you've made. Pickup is included, and the whole session runs with a live English-speaking guide.
