The experience
The tour starts just after sunset at Slovenska Beach, near the river mouth, where the sea is calm and the crowds have gone. After a safety briefing and short paddling instruction, you climb into an LED-lit kayak (single or double depending on group size), and push off across a shallow rocky ridge that connects Budva to Sveti Nikola Island. As darkness falls, the water beneath you glows with shifting light, and you'll watch for fish drawn to it: needlefish, smelt, and sometimes flying fish that dart across the surface.
Midway through, the group pauses in a calm, open spot to float and rest, taking in the glowing seabed in near-total silence. Then you turn toward Budva's Old Town, where ancient walls rise from the water, softly lit by the city lights. You glide past the ballerina statue, watching reflections flicker on the surface as you paddle back toward Slovenska Beach. The whole pace is gentle. The tour is designed for beginners, couples, and anyone new to kayaking, and no previous experience is required.
The kayaks come fully equipped with life jackets and waterproof bags. Your guide handles the instruction and leads the group. Groups are capped at seven kayaks, and if you're paddling solo, you may be paired with another guest in a double kayak. The tour operates in English, Russian, Ukrainian or Serbian, depending on the guide assigned.
