You'll walk through the production process, from grape handling to bottling, then taste five dessert wines in the tasting room, paired with walnuts, crackers and mineral water. A traditional lunch of regional specialties follows, giving you a sense of how Moldovan food and wine connect.

The second stop is Château Purcari, located near the borders of Moldova, Ukraine and the Black Sea. This estate is known worldwide for premium wines that have won Decanter medals and international awards. Your guide leads you through both the industrial section (the grape processing and bottling lines), and the historical cellars where wines mature in oak. You'll see the wine collection and tour the tourist complex before tasting Purcari's signature blends in one of the tasting halls, with nuts, sticks and still water provided. The winery also has a hotel and shop on-site if you want to extend your stay.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin at Căușeni, one of Moldova's most mysterious medieval landmarks, is also part of the itinerary. A licensed guide who speaks English, Russian or Romanian leads the entire day, and hotel pickup from Chisinau is included. The tour runs about seven hours and requires a minimum age of 18.
