Snorkeling at Las Gatas Beach, Zihuatanejo: Clearwater & Lunch
Snorkel clearwater reefs and eat fresh seafood on the beach
Snorkeling at Las Gatas Beach in Zihuatanejo puts you in the bay's clearest water with a guide, full equipment and a five-hour day that ends with lunch. Boat transport from shore, snorkeling gear, a guide in English or Spanish, and a seafood meal are all included; other water sports like kayaking and wave runners are available to rent on-site if you want them.
The Experience
Las Gatas Beach is the clearest snorkeling spot in Zihuatanejo Bay. A boat takes you from shore to the reefs, where a guide shows you the best spots to see fish and reef life. The water stays clear enough that you can work your way through the sites at your own pace while the guide stays with the group, pointing out what to look for and answering questions about what you're seeing.
After snorkeling, you have the rest of the afternoon on the beach. Lunch is a seafood meal included in the package, and you can use the restaurant facilities — showers, bathrooms, and lounge chairs — for as long as you're there. If you want to try other water sports, kayaking, wave runners and banana rides are available to rent separately; just ask your guide where to book them.
The day runs five hours total. Pickup is included, and the guide speaks English or Spanish. Children from age seven are welcome, and infants can sit on an adult's lap or use a specialized infant seat if needed.

Is this one for you?You do the snorkeling yourself with a guide who stays with the group and points out where to look, so you're in control of your pace and depth while someone local handles the route and the stops. This works best if you're comfortable in the water and want to explore reefs on your own terms rather than watch from a boat.
