- Visit Basilica of Guadalupe
- Explore Teotihuacan archaeological zone
- Visit Temple of Quetzalcoatl
- Enjoy free time in downtown Teotihuacan
- Visit local craft workshop
The experience
Nine to ten hours takes you through Mexico's layered history. The day starts at the Basilica of Guadalupe, one of the world's most important Catholic pilgrimage centers, where you learn the architecture and cultural weight of the site. Then the route heads to Teotihuacan Archaeological Zone, where a certified guide and audio guide walk you through the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, the Causeway of the Dead and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl: the last one also called the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, known for its carved reliefs. The guide explains the history of what locals called the City of Gods and what each ceremonial space meant to the people who built it.
After the archaeological zone, you get free time in downtown Teotihuacan to walk at your own pace, photograph, eat and drink, or just sit with the local rhythm. Then the tour stops at a craft workshop where artisans show you traditional materials and techniques tied to the valley's cultural identity: a chance to see what people make and sell here now, not just what they left behind. Adults taste tequila and mezcal during this part of the day. The route circles back through the Magic Town's historic center and its cathedral, where colonial architecture sits alongside pre-Hispanic remnants.
Admission to the archaeological site costs 210 MXN per person, payable on site when you arrive (domestic visitors with current ID pay 105 MXN). The tour includes umbrellas for sun or rain, bottled water, an air-conditioned vehicle, the certified guide and audio guide, and hotel pickup from Mexico City. Depending on the option you choose at checkout, lunch may be included.
