The Experience

The morning starts with trail riding through the countryside around San Miguel de Allende. You'll pass through the river, ride across open land, and return on different trails that run alongside the canyon—the pace is yours to set over 2.5 hours. A professional guide leads the way and speaks English or Spanish. After the ride, you head back to an outdoor ranch for an authentic Mexican lunch before the group moves on to the hot springs.

The afternoon is spent at natural thermal pools. La Gruta is the regular stop, but on Mondays and Tuesdays when it closes, the operator takes you to Escondido or XOTE water park instead, where you can swim and sunbathe for 2.5 hours. Door-to-door pickup in San Miguel de Allende is included for up to three people; larger groups need to arrange a second vehicle. Bring your own bathing suit, towel, hat and sunblock, and wear jeans, boots or sneakers with a long cotton shirt for the ride.
