The experience

You arrive at the meeting place, which sits at the take-off and landing runway itself. There's secure parking, an awning, tables and chairs to wait in before your flight. A certified pilot briefs you on what to expect, then you're harnessed in and ready to launch. The actual flying (the moment you leave the ground and feel the wind) lasts twenty minutes, long enough to see Santiago's mountains and the mouth dam from above, and to catch a sunrise or sunset if your timing works out.

This is tandem paragliding, so you're not operating the equipment. The pilot handles the wing and the landing. Your job is to be present in it: no fuselage between you and the air, no barrier between you and the view. You get a flight certificate to take home, plus HD video and photographs of the flight itself, shot by the operator.

What’s included

  • Flight certificate.
  • HD video and souvenir photographs of your flight.
  • secure parking at the meeting site.
  • use of the waiting area with seating and shade.
