National Park: Guided Walk & Snorkel Tour with Pickup
Walk forest trails then snorkel coral reefs with local guides
You’ll hike forest trails with a local guide, spot wildlife along the way, then reach a quiet virgin beach for snorkeling over colorful coral reefs. All gear is included plus drinks after swimming—just bring your towel and sunblock. It’s an easygoing morning that leaves you salty-haired and smiling long after you’ve left the sand behind.
Step-by-step itinerary
Walk and Snorkel in National Park
- Walk trail to virgin beach
- Snorkel at pristine coral reef
- Environmental interpretation of flora and fauna
The Experience
"You hear that?" our guide José asked, pausing on the trail as some bird I couldn’t name called out from somewhere above us. The path through the National Park was still damp from last night’s rain—mud sticking to my shoes, leaves brushing my arms. I kept stopping to look at these tiny red flowers José pointed out (he said their name in Spanish, but honestly, I forgot it right away). There was this earthy smell everywhere, like wet wood and salt mixed together. We were maybe forty minutes in when the trees suddenly opened up and there it was—a wild stretch of beach with nobody else around except us and a couple of crabs scuttling sideways.
I’d never snorkeled before, so I was half excited and half convinced I’d swallow half the ocean. José handed out the gear—mask felt weird at first—and showed us how to fit everything. The water was cooler than I expected but clear enough that you could see your toes disappear into blue. Fish darted past in these flashes of yellow and purple; one big one just stared at me for a second before vanishing under a rock. There’s this moment when you’re floating face-down, hearing only your own breathing and the muffled sound of waves—kind of peaceful and strange at the same time. I didn’t expect to feel so calm out there.
Afterwards we sat on the sand drinking cold beer (or water if you wanted), just talking about what we’d seen—José told us how some of the coral is older than his grandparents, which made me laugh but also made me think about how long this place has been here compared to us. The walk back felt slower; maybe because we were tired or maybe because nobody really wanted to leave yet. Oh—and bring more sunblock than you think you’ll need. My nose is still peeling.
What’s included
Your morning includes pickup and transport to the National Park trailhead, use of all snorkeling equipment once you reach the virgin beach, drinks (beer or water) after swimming, plus guidance from an English-speaking local who knows every twist in the trail before bringing you back again.
