Step-by-step itinerary
Fishing, snorkeling, and beach relaxation
- Meet at gamaextreme palapa
- Depart from whale shark pier
- Fish for corvina, grouper, snapper
- Snorkel near Cabo Catoche at Cuevones
- Eat fish ceviche at Cocalito
- Relax on beach and hammocks
The Experience
You meet at the gamaextreme palapa and board from the whale shark pier. The first stop is a fishing ground where the guide sets you up with rod and line—no experience needed—and you cast for corvina, grouper, snapper and chac chi while the water stays shallow enough to see what bites. This is not a long-line operation; it's you holding the rod, feeling the pull, and landing what takes the hook.
From there the boat moves to Cuevones, a snorkel site very close to Cabo Catoche where the reef life is dense and the water clear. Manta rays glide past, nurse sharks cruise the bottom, and sea horses hide in the grass. You have the snorkel gear—mask, fins, snorkel—and the guide stays with the group. The site is sheltered and the entry is easy; the reef is the draw.
The last stop is Cocalito, a beach where the boat pulls in and you wade ashore. A fresh fish ceviche waits—the catch or the day's supply, served cold and sharp with lime. You have free time to eat, rest in the hammocks strung between palms, and let the afternoon slow down. Soda and bottled water are included throughout. The whole outing runs about five hours from start to finish.
What’s included
- Snorkel gear (mask, fins, snorkel).

Operated by Gamaextreme tours
Is this one for you?The tour moves between three stops—fishing, snorkeling, and beach—so you're active at each one rather than watching from the boat. The water entry is easy and the snorkel site is close to shore, which suits anyone comfortable in the sea but not looking for a long boat ride or deep-water work.
