The experience

Chichen Itza is a six-hour day built around three stops. You start at the archaeological site itself with a guide who explains the Mayan history and culture as you walk. The guide speaks English, Spanish, French or German depending on your choice at booking. After the tour of the ruins, you get free time to shop and photograph on your own before moving to the next stop.

The cenote Oxman is an open sinkhole with crystal-clear water where swimming and snorkeling happen. The Tarzan swing lets you jump from a rope into the water, and you can swing and snorkel as many times as you want during your time there. Snorkeling equipment is provided. Between Chichen Itza and the cenote, you stop in Valladolid, a colonial town built in the 16th century, where you have free time to walk around before lunch at El Mesón del Marqués, a restaurant in town serving traditional Mexican food.

Private transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle is included, as is hotel pickup. The tour runs at a pace suitable for all fitness levels, and the vehicle and all areas are wheelchair accessible. Infants and small children can travel in a pram, stroller or specialized infant seat.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if you want to swim and snorkel at a cenote as part of the same day as Chichen Itza, rather than visiting the ruins alone. The private vehicle and guide mean the pace and stops are set for your group, so you don't arrange transport separately or navigate between sites yourself.
