The experience
The evening starts with transport from your accommodation (pickups run between 18:15 and 19:00 depending on which of the ten zones you're staying in), and you arrive at the Mosta restaurant at 19:30. The restaurant staff seat your group at a reserved table and take your choices for starter and main course. The four-course menu is traditional Maltese cooking prepared by award-winning chefs, and it comes with flowing local wines, mineral water and coffee included throughout the meal.
Once dinner is finished, the restaurant dance floor rises for the folklore show. Dancers in eighteenth-century costumes perform live music and tell the story of Maltese history through movement and choreography. After the performance ends, the dance floor lowers and lights up again. This time for you to dance to international classics if you want to join in. At 22:30, transport takes you back to your pickup point.
The evening runs about three hours from start to finish. If you have dietary requirements, let the restaurant know when you book and confirm again when they take your order. You can also order items not on the Maltese Tasting menu (an aperitif or digestif, for example), and pay for those separately on the night.
