The experience

You arrive at the boat in the morning and head out to Nosy Iranja, where the day splits between water and land. The beach itself is the draw (crystal clear and calm enough to swim comfortably), but the island has a geography that makes it worth exploring. A sandy strip connects the main island to Nosy Iranja Kely, a smaller bump you can walk across. After you've swum and dried off, you can climb to the lighthouse or push higher to the top of the island for views back toward Nosy Be, or simply stay on the sand.

Lunch arrives mid-day, cooked by locals and built around what the sea and land offer: coconut rice, zebu, prawns, crab, fresh non-farmed fish. Vegetarian options are available.
