Your driver picks you up from your Mombasa hotel in the early morning and drives through the coastal landscape—palm plantations and local properties passing by—arriving at Shimoni around 8:00 am. You board a boat (the type depends on your group size and the day's bookings) and sail along Wasini Canal toward Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park. This is where the dolphins are. The 95% sighting rate is not a guarantee, but it reflects what the marine park delivers most days: you'll be in the water or on the boat watching for them, and the odds are solid.

Snorkeling happens in two sessions across the day, totaling 2–3 hours in the protected waters. Between them, you get tropical fruits to refuel. The coral reefs here are colorful and alive—sea turtles show up sometimes, and the smaller fish are constant. Your guide is a local who knows the park and speaks English. After the second snorkeling session, you head to Mkwiro or Vumba Village on Wasini Island for a short cultural tour. This is not a performance; it's a real village where people live, and if you've brought small donations—books, sanitary towels, gently used clothes—they're welcomed. Then you return to Shimoni for lunch: an authentic Swahili meal prepared by local women. The money from your meal goes directly to them and their families. Cold sodas come after lunch.
