The experience

How do you see three different parks and their wildlife without spending a week on the road? This tour strings them together in a single 3-day loop, starting with a 6:30 am pickup from your hotel or airport in Diani. The drive to Tsavo East uses the Mombasa-Nairobi Trans-African highway and enters through Bachuma Gate. You game drive en route to Saltlick lodge, arriving in time for lunch. The lodge sits in Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary overlooking a floodlit waterhole: animals come to drink at night while you eat dinner, so you see them without leaving the dining area.

Day two starts before sunrise with a game drive through Taita Sanctuary, then you head to Tsavo West with a picnic lunch. Tsavo West is known for Mzima springs, varied wildlife and a working rhino reserve. The afternoon gives you time to rest and swim at the lodge before dinner. The final morning is another early game drive at 6:30 am to catch the sunrise, then breakfast and a late departure back to Diani. Transport throughout is a Safari Landcruiser with a pop-up roof, which means you stand to photograph and watch without the vehicle roof blocking your view.

The two nights are on a full-board basis. All meals are included at Saltlick lodge on night one and at Ngulia or Severin lodge on night two. Park entry fees for Tsavo East, Taita Hills and Tsavo West are included, as is bottled water throughout the drive. A live guide speaks English, Italian, French or German depending on your group.
