Step-by-step itinerary
Night photo tour in Shinjuku and Shibuya
- Photo session in Kabukicho nightlife district
- Capture portraits at Shibuya Scramble Crossing
- Walk through crossing for candid photos
The experience
The session starts in Kabukicho, Tokyo's electric nightlife district, where neon signs and lively streets become your backdrop. Gota works with you on posing and framing while the vibrant chaos of the neighborhood stays in the frame: bold, colorful shots that feel like they belong in a film. This is the setup phase: you'll learn how he approaches night photography, what angles work, and how to move naturally in front of the camera.
Then you move to Shibuya Crossing. When the pedestrian light turns green, you'll step into the center of the intersection and hold for portraits surrounded by city lights and the flow of bodies around you. After that comes the part most visitors never experience: you walk through the crossing naturally while Gota photographs you continuously, capturing candid, movie-like moments as the crowd moves. It's the kind of shot that makes you feel like the main character in your own film, and it's possible only because the session is private: no waiting, no strangers in the frame.
Gota has guided hundreds of international guests over more than a decade. He handles the technical side (exposure, focus, composition in low light), so you can focus on how you want to look and feel. Every image gets professional editing for cinematic color and a polished finish. You'll walk roughly 3 kilometers across the two neighborhoods. Wear comfortable shoes. You'll need to cover your own train fare between Shinjuku and Shibuya, but the photographer handles everything else.
