The experience
The day starts with a 5am hotel pickup in the Tokyo area and a one-hour drive to Yokosuka Shin-Yasuura Port. Once there, the staff walk you through equipment, casting technique and safety before you board. An experienced captain and more than two other crew members stay with you the whole time: beginners get hands-on help the moment you need it, and problems get solved fast.
Fishing runs from 7:15am to 11:30am, long enough to build real skill and land plenty of fish. You're fishing in open water with views of Mount Fuji and Enoshima, and the catch depends on the season and what's running that day. The boat returns to port by noon, and you're driven to a restaurant in Kawasaki where chefs turn your fish into lunch: tempura, sashimi, karaage, nitsuke, shioyaki, fried whole fish, sushi, soba, even fish bone chips. On Fridays, the plan shifts. You fish from Koshigoe Port near Enoshima for an extra 90 minutes, targeting more species and bigger fish, then eat a Japanese-Italian fusion course instead. The regular plan ends near Kawasaki Station around 2:30pm. The Friday plan ends near Yokohama Station around 3:30pm.
All fishing gear (rods, bait, tackle, boots, life vests) is provided. Raincoats are lent free on rainy days. The boat fee, fishing fee, instructor fee and lunch are all included in the price. A solo traveler pays a 7,000 yen surcharge in cash on the day. Drinks are not included. The tour runs rain or shine.
