What’s included

Your own private vehicle for six hours with an English-speaking driver who’ll pick you up wherever works best for you in Tokyo. The route is flexible—you choose which highlights to see (3–4 stops recommended). Wheelchair access is available; let us know about any special needs or requests when booking.

The day started right at my hotel door—no subway confusion, no crowds. Our driver, Mr. Sato, greeted us with a quick bow and a smile. He spoke easy English and asked if we wanted to tweak the plan. We picked Senso-ji Temple first since mornings are quieter there. The smell of incense hit me before I even saw the red gate. Locals were already tossing coins and clapping hands at the main hall. I grabbed a sweet rice cracker from a tiny stand near the entrance—crunchy, slightly salty, just what I needed.

Kappabashi Street was next, just a short drive away. If you love kitchen stuff or quirky souvenirs, this place is wild—rows of shops selling everything from chef knives to those fake sushi displays you see in restaurant windows. Our driver pointed out Kamata Knife Shop as his favorite for real Japanese blades. I ducked into a store selling plastic food samples; honestly, they look so real it’s hard not to laugh.

We cruised past the Imperial Palace grounds—not inside, but you get a good view of the stone bridges and wide lawns from outside the gates. It’s peaceful here; joggers loop around while office workers eat lunch under the trees. Then came Tokyo Tower—up to the main deck only (not the top), but still high enough for city views stretching all the way to Mt. Fuji on clear days. There’s a little café on the deck where I grabbed canned coffee and watched kids press their faces against the glass floor panels.

Meiji Shrine felt like another world after all that city buzz—a long walk through tall cedar trees, soft gravel crunching underfoot. You might spot a wedding procession if you’re lucky; we caught one just as drums echoed through the courtyard. Harajuku was our last stop: Takeshita Street packed with teens in wild outfits, crepe stands everywhere, music spilling out of every shopfront. We ended at Shibuya Crossing—waited for that famous green light and joined hundreds crossing at once. It’s chaotic but kind of thrilling too.
