The experience
This tour runs on your terms. Before you book, you select which sites matter to you: Odori Park and the Sapporo TV Tower, the Hokkaido Shrine and Maruyama Park, Susukino's ramen lane, the Clock Tower, Shiroi Koibito Park's cookie factory, or any of a dozen other stops across the city. Your guide then builds a route that fits the time you've chosen and the ground you want to cover. The guide meets you on foot in your hotel area, so there's no separate transport to arrange. You walk from there.
Sapporo spreads across distinct neighborhoods, each with its own rhythm. The guide speaks English and holds a government license, which means they know the city's history, from the Meiji-era red-brick buildings downtown to the modern parks and museums on the edges. A four-hour tour covers two or three stops. A six-hour day reaches three or four. The pace is walking pace, and the route stays inside Sapporo proper. Entrance fees to any sites you visit are your own cost, as is lunch, so you're not locked into a package meal.
Groups max out at ten people per tour, and you cannot split a booking across multiple departures. If you're traveling with others, they all book together on the same itinerary.

Can I choose which sites to visit, or does the guide decide?
You choose from a list of Sapporo attractions before booking: Odori Park, the TV Tower, Maruyama Park, the Hokkaido Shrine, Susukino, Shiroi Koibito Park, Mount Moiwa, Jozankei, and others. The guide then builds your route around the sites you pick and the time you've booked.
What's the difference between the four-hour and six-hour tours?
The four-hour tour covers 2–3 sites. The six-hour tour covers 3–4 sites. Both start with a meet-up on foot in your hotel area and follow the route your guide creates from your selections.
Do I need to pay for entry to the sites we visit?
Entrance fees are not included in the tour price and are your responsibility at each site. The guide's entry is covered only for the attractions you've listed in your itinerary.
How does the pickup work if this is a walking tour?
There's no vehicle pickup. Your guide meets you on foot within a designated area near your Sapporo hotel, and you walk from there to your first stop.
Is this tour suitable if I'm not a strong walker?
The tour is a walking tour, so comfort with several hours on foot matters. All areas and surfaces in central Sapporo are wheelchair accessible, and the guide can work with you on pace and route choices.
