The experience
The tour starts with hotel pickup in Tokyo or Yokohama and heads to Mount Fuji 5th Station, where you stand at 2,300 meters and look out across the mountain's slopes and the landscape below. From there the route moves to Narusawa Ice Cave, a natural lava cave where ice formations stay frozen year-round even in summer, then down to Lake Kawaguchi for views of Mount Fuji reflected in the water. The driver-guide speaks English, Spanish, Hindi or Japanese and handles all the navigation. You bring a camera and comfortable shoes.
The afternoon takes in Chureito Pagoda at Arakurayama Sengen Park, where the five-story red pagoda frames Mount Fuji in photographs, then Oshino Hakkai, a traditional village built around clear spring-water ponds with Mount Fuji visible across the valley. The last stop is Oishi Park on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi, where seasonal flowers and open views let you sit and absorb the landscape before the return drive. Water and snacks are provided. Meals are on your own.
Private transport means no shared minibus or fixed group schedule: the van adapts to your pace at each stop. Hotel pickup and drop-off save the time and cost of getting to a meeting point, and the 10-hour span covers the major viewpoints without requiring you to rent a car or navigate mountain roads yourself.
What’s included

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, Hindi, Japanese and Urdu.
How many stops does the tour actually make, and do I have time to linger at each one?
Six stops: Mount Fuji 5th Station, Narusawa Ice Cave, Lake Kawaguchi, Chureito Pagoda, Oshino Hakkai village and Oishi Park. The 10-hour tour spans all of them, so time at each site depends on how many you want to explore. Your driver-guide can adjust the pace within the day.
What is Narusawa Ice Cave, and why does ice stay there in summer?
Narusawa Ice Cave is a natural lava cave formed by volcanic activity near Mount Fuji. Ice forms on the cave floor and walls because the underground temperature stays below freezing year-round, even when the air outside is warm. The ice can be several meters thick.
Do I need to buy entrance tickets separately, or are they included?
Entrance tickets to the attractions are not included in the tour price and must be purchased at each site. The tour includes private transport, hotel pickup and drop-off, and a driver-guide. Water and snacks are provided.
Can I do this tour if I'm visiting Yokohama instead of Tokyo?
Yes. Hotel pickup is included from either Tokyo or Yokohama, so the tour collects you from your accommodation in either city and returns you there at the end of the day.
