Learn to ink manga the way professionals do

A 90-minute manga inking workshop in Kumamoto where you hand-ink scenes from legendary titles like Fist of the North Star and City Hunter using professional G-pens and real ink. You'll create a framed finished piece to take home, receive a manga starter kit, and record your process with dedicated stands. The workshop includes material fees and experience fees. Advance booking is required due to limited capacity, and late arrivals of 15 minutes or more may shorten or cancel your session.

The experience

What does it actually feel like to work like a manga artist? This workshop puts you at a desk with the same professional G-pen and ink that top manga artists use, working from official manuscript copies of real titles. You'll learn how to handle the tool, control the line weight, and finish a scene well enough to frame. The staff guides you through the process in Japanese with basic English support, so the focus stays on your hands and what they're learning to do.

You pick which legendary title to work from (Fist of the North Star, City Hunter, Keiji of the Flowers, Cat's Eye, Record of Ragnarok, or Wakakozake), and ink one scene from start to finish. The inking takes the full 90 minutes, and by the end you have a framed piece ready to hang. You also walk away with a manga starter kit so you can keep drawing once you're home. Time-lapse recording stands are set up so you can film your work if you want to capture the process. Many people do, and it's easy to share later.

Real ink stains, so wear clothes you don't mind marking. The G-pen is sharp and demands care. Public transportation runs nearby if you need it. Advance booking is mandatory because the workshop runs with limited spots, and if you arrive more than 15 minutes late, the session may be shortened or cancelled.
