Step-by-step itinerary
Crafting and exploring Musashi-Kosugi
- Visit kawaii DECO parts shop
- Create key charm with guide
- Explore Musashi-Kosugi historic streets
- Visit all-weather shopping mall
The experience
The DECO parts shop itself is the first stop: a sparkling space filled with kawaii culture the moment you walk in. You'll choose up to 10 decorative parts from the shop's stock (starting at 35 yen each) and create your key charm or accessory set on the shop's terrace, or indoors depending on weather. Each piece you make reflects your own choices, so comparing what others in the group designed is part of the fun. The guide walks you through the process and helps you bring your vision to life.
After crafting, you explore Musashi-Kosugi itself: a neighborhood that shifted from rural farmland into a modern hub of high-rise towers, yet kept pockets of its historic streetscape intact. The guide shows you how the old and new sit side by side, pointing out local shops and the layers of the area's transformation. This is not a typical tourist route. You're seeing how a real Tokyo-area neighborhood actually lives.
The final stop is a major all-weather shopping mall designed for comfort and browsing. It's spacious with stroller rentals, well-equipped restrooms, a rooftop park, and shops ranging from everyday to quirky, including a sushi restaurant where bullet trains deliver plates to your table. The guide helps you navigate Japanese pop culture and local finds while keeping the pace relaxed and crowd-free.
