Dress in a yukata and move through a moment of old Japan
A guided activity in Kamakura where you wear a yukata, learn to bow and walk in it, then dance to the Japanese song "Sakura Sakura" with a fan. The operator lends the yukata, fan and tabi socks. The socks are a souvenir you take home. A live guide leads in English or Japanese.
The Experience
You arrive and put on a yukata. The operator provides the full set. Once dressed, you learn how to bow and walk in it, movements that feel foreign at first but settle into something deliberate. The guide walks you through the posture and the steps, adjusting how you carry yourself in the garment. This is not a performance you watch. You do it, feeling the weight and the constraint of the fabric as part of the learning.
Then comes the dance. You hold the fan and move to "Sakura Sakura," the representative Japanese song. The guide demonstrates and you follow, the fan becoming an extension of the gesture. The whole sequence (dressing, bowing, walking, dancing) takes you through an experience that exists almost nowhere else outside Japan. The tabi socks you wear are yours to take home, a tangible reminder of the afternoon.
A live guide in English or Japanese leads the entire activity, so language is not a barrier. The location fee is included, and public transportation options are nearby if you need them to get there.

Is this one for you?You do the bowing, walking and dancing yourself with the guide's instruction. This is hands-on learning, not a performance to watch. Choose this if you want to move through a piece of Japanese tradition rather than observe it, and if you have a full afternoon free to settle into the yukata and practice without rushing.
