The experience
The bus collects you from your hotel and drives straight to the ferry terminal for a 10-minute crossing to Noko Island on the Sakura ferry. The deck opens onto panoramic views of Fukuoka and Hakata Bay as you approach. Once through the park gates, the route splits: go left for a 9-hole golf course, or right toward the flower-covered rolling hills where you can pet rabbits and feed goats. The old village sits further along, its Meiji-era toy store and pottery studio tucked between traditional craft workshops where you can watch artisans at work.
Before lunch, you change into a traditional summer yukata and walk through the main flower garden with views across the bay. The park's famous sumibiaki BBQ lunch happens in the house overlooking the water. You cook your Wagyu at your own pace, with a cold drink included. After eating, the afternoon is unstructured: wander back to favorite spots, claim a private bench, grab an ice cream cone, or browse the souvenir shop. The return ferry leaves when you're ready, and the bus takes you back to the city.
