The experience

What makes this different is the equipment itself: you sit in a transparent kayak, which means the water and seabed show through beneath you as the drone shoots from directly overhead. The kayak stays anchored and stationary at one of Negril's most photographed water entries, so there's no paddling or navigation. Your job is to follow the poses the team instructs you through. The shoot runs 30 minutes, and the owners, who are from Atlanta and Negril, guide you into what they call "hot and innovative" positions while the drone captures the angles.

You'll be assisted into the kayak and positioned throughout the session. The team shoots over 30 individual photos plus one short video, all unedited, and delivers them to you via USB and directly to your cell phone after you're done. This is Jamaica's first clear kayak drone photoshoot, and the operation is female-owned and curated. The whole experience centers on the photography, not on paddling, exploring or sitting passively while someone else frames the shot.
