The experience
The winery has been producing wine in its original stone cellar since 1850, and that's where the tour begins. You'll move through the purpose-built production areas while the guide walks you through the founders' history and the villa estate itself, then see the bottle archive and learn which wines are native to the region. The structure itself is part of the story. These are the same rooms where the wines have been made for over 170 years.
After the cellar, you head out to walk among the grapevines across the 45 hectares of privately owned vineyards, getting a sense of the land that feeds the wines. Then you settle into either the historic barrel room or an outdoor tasting area overlooking the vines, where three wines arrive with a selective platter of local meats and cheeses. The three you'll taste are Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi (a white), Lacrima di Morro d'Alba (a red), and Rosso Piceno (also red): all native to the region. If you want to explore further, the winery also produces other still and sparkling wines, grappa, and extra-virgin olive oils that you can add to your tasting or purchase.
The tour runs about an hour and is wheelchair accessible throughout, with accessible transportation and surfaces in all areas. You'll need a minimum of two people to book, and anyone tasting wine must be at least 18.
