Three hours on an e-bike, then cheese and wine at the source.

Combine an e-bike ride through the Valsassina valley with a cheese tasting at a dairy farm in Pasturo. Pedal the bike/pedestrian path from Pasturo toward Taceno and back, taking in the mountain landscapes, then return to taste regional cheeses (taleggio, robiola, quartirolo, gorgonzola) paired with wine at the farm's restaurant. Choose between a classic tasting or a gourmet option with a hot dish. The experience runs 5.5 hours total, with e-bike rental and helmet included.

The experience

The Valsassina, a few minutes from Lecco, is built on cheese. Taleggio, goat cheese, robiola, quartirolo, gorgonzola. The valley's dairies have been making them for generations, and a tasting at the source tastes different from anywhere else. This activity pairs that tasting with three hours on an e-bike, so you move through the landscape under your own power instead of watching it pass.

You arrive at the dairy farm in Pasturo by 10am and ride out along the Valsassina bike/pedestrian path, a dedicated route that lets you set your own pace. The path runs toward Taceno and back, and the terrain is gentle enough for all fitness levels. The e-bike handles the climbing. You'll see the valley's unspoiled landscapes and the mountains that frame it. At 1pm you return to the farm and sit down to taste. The classic tasting includes different cheeses with compotes, a glass of wine, water and coffee. The gourmet option adds a hot dish like pizzoccheri, a local specialty. Children get a soft drink or water instead of wine. The whole experience ends by 3:30pm.

E-bike rental for the three-hour ride comes with a helmet. You'll also get a 10% discount on purchases at the dairy farm store, so if a cheese speaks to you, you can take it home. The activity runs in the morning (9:45 arrival, ending at 3:30pm) or in the afternoon (3pm start, finishing at 8:30pm), and you choose your tasting level (classic or gourmet) when you book.

What cheeses will I taste at the Valsassina dairy farm?
