The experience
The ride starts in Urbino itself, a UNESCO World Heritage site built on steep terrain: the electric bikes make the climbs manageable even if you've never ridden one before. You'll pedal through the city's Renaissance streets and then out into the green hills of Montefeltro, where the landscape opens up and the views stretch across the region. The route is designed to be feasible for non-professional riders, and the e-bike's assisted pedaling means you're not fighting the terrain.
Two stops break up the ride. First comes a winery in Bianchello del Metauro, one of the area's most recognized producers, where you'll taste organic wines paired with local platters. Later, you visit a dairy to sample cheeses and ricottas made from zero-kilometer products: the kind of food that doesn't travel far from where it's made. Both stops let you taste what the region actually produces instead of what gets shipped in.
You'll receive a bike helmet, lock, and a GPS map with the route marked so you know where you're going. Insurance is included. If you book the self-guided option, you ride at your own pace with the map to follow. If you choose the tour with a cycling guide, the guide leads the group and handles the stops: useful if you want someone who knows the back roads and can point out details you'd miss on your own. Both options include the same tastings and the same five-hour window.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I do this tour if I've never ridden an electric bike before?
Yes. The eBike's assisted pedaling does most of the work on hills, and the tour is designed for all fitness levels. You get a helmet and the route on GPS, so you can ride at your own pace if you choose the self-guided option.
What exactly happens at the wine and cheese stops?
At the winery in Bianchello del Metauro, you taste organic wines with local platters. At the dairy, you sample cheeses and ricottas made from zero-kilometer products: food produced within the region. Both are working producers, not tourist shops.
What's the difference between the self-guided tour and the one with a cycling guide?
The self-guided option gives you the eBike, map, and GPS route to follow at your own pace. The cycling guide option includes a live guide who leads the group, knows the roads, and handles the stops. Both include the same tastings and last around five hours. Guides speak English or Italian.
How difficult is the terrain, and will the hills be a problem?
The route goes through Urbino's steep streets and the Montefeltro hills, but the electric assist on the bikes handles the climbing. The tour suits all fitness levels because you're not pedaling uphill under your own power alone.
What's included, and what do I need to bring?
The eBike, helmet, lock, insurance, GPS map, and both tastings are included. You'll need a valid ID and should wear comfortable clothes for riding. Public transportation is available nearby if you need to reach the starting point.
