Ninety minutes is enough to move through the Basilica without the queue that forms outside. Priority entrance means you walk past the line at the door and straight into the interior. An audio guide in English, Spanish, Italian, French or German is yours from the start, and an on-site assistant is there if you need help with entry or navigation.
The self-guided format lets you linger where you want. Michelangelo's Pietà sits in its chapel; Bernini's Baldachin rises over the altar; the mosaics, sculptures and decorated chapels fill the vast space. The Papal Tombs are included. You descend to see the burial sites of former Popes and understand the spiritual weight of the place. The audio guide walks you through the religious, artistic and historical layers as you move through. Dome access is not part of this ticket, so the climb is not an option.
The Basilica sits in Vatican City, and public transportation reaches the area. Infants can bring a pram or stroller, and service animals are welcome. The ticket is suitable for all fitness levels, though the interior involves standing and walking on stone floors.
