The experience

Four sites, one pass, three days to move through them without waiting at the door. The Cathedral itself holds statues by Michelangelo, Donatello and Bernini, the Piccolomini Library with frescoes by Pinturicchio, and a marble floor Vasari called the most beautiful ever made in 1568. The Baptistery houses a Renaissance font sculpted by Jacopo della Quercia, Donatello and Lorenzo Ghiberti. The Crypt (hidden for over seven centuries and rediscovered in 1999) shows a 13th-century fresco cycle in its original colors. The Museo dell'Opera holds the Majesty by Duccio di Buoninsegna, the largest altarpiece ever made, alongside works by Bernini, Donatello and Pisano.

Skip-the-line access means you walk past the queue at each entrance instead of standing in it. The pass is valid for three consecutive days, so you can spread the sites across a morning, an afternoon, or return on a second day if the Cathedral alone takes longer than expected. You move through each space at your own pace: no group, no fixed schedule, no guide narration unless you add the digital audio guide at checkout. A timed entry slot secures your first visit. If that time is no longer available when you book, the museum automatically assigns the closest available slot and confirms it with you.

All areas are wheelchair accessible, and infants can use a pram or stroller. Public transportation stops nearby, and the sites themselves are reachable without steps or barriers. Service animals are welcome.

Top questions

What exactly is inside the Siena Cathedral that makes it worth the ticket?

The Cathedral holds sculptures by Michelangelo, Donatello and Bernini, the Piccolomini Library decorated with frescoes by Pinturicchio, and a marble inlay floor across the floor that Vasari praised as the most beautiful ever made. The pulpit by Nicola Pisano is also here.

Can I visit all four sites in one day, or do I need to spread them across the three days?

You can visit all four in one day if you have the time, or spread them across the three consecutive days the pass covers. The Cathedral and its attached spaces (Baptistery, Crypt, Museo dell'Opera) are close to each other, so moving between them is quick.

What is the Crypt, and why is it worth seeing?

The Crypt was accidentally rediscovered in 1999 after being hidden for over seven centuries. It contains a 13th-century fresco cycle painted in vibrant original colors: a rare survival of medieval painting technique and pigment.

Do I need to book a specific time to enter, or can I just show up with the pass?

You choose a timed entry slot when you book. If that slot is no longer available, the museum confirms the nearest available time and notifies you before your visit.

Is the Museo dell'Opera part of this pass, or do I pay separately?

The Museo dell'Opera is included in the OPA SI Pass. It holds major works including the Majesty by Duccio di Buoninsegna (the largest altarpiece ever made), Bernini's Golden Rose, Donatello's Madonna with the Child, and Pisano's crucifix.
