The experience

What makes this tour work is the boat itself. A 25-seat Goiter built for comfort means you're not crammed in. There's a dining table, sun awning, refrigerator and USB sockets onboard, plus a deck shower with hot water if you want to rinse off between swims. The route hugs the Strait of Messina coast, moving between Favazzina, Bagnara Calabra and the sea-only beaches that have no road access. You stop to swim and snorkel in the clearest water, and the caves themselves (stacks of rock rising straight from the sea with openings carved into them) are the real draw.

Snorkeling gear is included, so you don't need to bring your own or rent separately. Between swims, you get a glass of prosecco and local Calabrian products served onboard. The tour runs 3 hours, which gives you time to hit multiple stops without the day feeling rushed or leaving you exhausted.

What’s included

  • Snorkeling equipment.
  • deck shower with hot water.
  • onboard water, tea and prosecco per person.
  • Calabrian aperitif items.

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What's the water like for swimming and snorkeling around Scilla?

The water is clear enough to snorkel in, and the tour stops at coves and sea caves where you can see into the depths. Cala Jankulla Beach and the cave entrances in the stacks are the main snorkeling spots.

Do I need to bring my own snorkeling gear?

No. Snorkeling equipment is included with the tour, so you can jump in without renting or packing your own.

How much time do you actually spend swimming versus traveling between stops?

The full tour is 3 hours. You stop at multiple points along the coast (Favazzina, Bagnara Calabra, Cala Jankulla and the caves) with time to swim and snorkel at each one, though the exact breakdown depends on conditions and how many passengers want to linger.

Is there food or drink onboard?

Yes. You're offered water, tea, and a glass of prosecco per person, plus typical Calabrian products served as an aperitif while you're on the boat.
