The experience
You arrive with an open mind and no preparation required. The instructor seats the group in a circle on a waterproof mat outdoors on Ferrara's walls, introduces everyone with a personal detail to build rapport, then reads a short text chosen to provoke thought. From that text emerges a single philosophical question. One the group will spend the next hour exploring together, not debating, but genuinely seeking answers through each person's perspective and the new questions that arise as you listen to one another.
The instructor's role is to guide the thread of thinking, not to lecture. You speak when you have something to add, hear ideas that shift your own, and watch how a question deepens when ten people bring ten different angles to it. The conversation stays grounded: you are not performing philosophy, you are doing it, and the mat beneath you and the walls of Ferrara around you are simply where this happens. Weather can interrupt. If conditions turn uncertain, you will receive word about whether the session runs or cancels, with no charge if it does not.
The final fifteen minutes are for reflection: you share how the exchange landed for you, what surprised you, what you are taking away. The class ends there, and you leave with the names of people you have just thought alongside, and the particular shape that one question took in that circle on that afternoon.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Do I need to know anything about philosophy to join this dialogue?
No. The class is open to anyone 16 and older, and no prior knowledge of philosophy, mathematics or any formal discipline is required. The instructor guides the conversation so that everyone can participate and contribute meaningfully, regardless of background.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the class?
If weather conditions are uncertain, the instructor will contact you with information about whether the session will run or be cancelled. If it is cancelled due to weather, you will not be charged.
What does the class actually cover? Is there a specific philosophical topic?
The instructor selects a text and formulates one philosophical question from it at the start of the session. The group then explores that question together through dialogue, so the specific topic emerges from the text chosen for that day and the direction the conversation takes.
How many people sit in the circle, and is it always the same group?
The class is a group session, so you will be sitting with other participants. The exact number varies by session, but the circle format is designed to let everyone speak and be heard.
Where exactly on Ferrara's walls does this take place?
The dialogue happens outdoors on Ferrara's walls. The location is a dirt track with minimal elevation change (less than 10 meters over a 300-meter stretch), so the setting is accessible and the focus stays on the conversation, not the terrain.
