The experience

The tour begins with a drive to the Würzjoch, a mountain pass on the border between the German and Ladin language regions, where the hike starts. From there you walk the loop around Peitlerkofel (a route that's manageable for anyone with average fitness) climbing together to the Peitlerscharte at 2,300 meters, the highest point of the circuit. Along the way the guide points out the best angles for photographs and the spots where wild chamois and mountain birds are most likely to appear.

The hike takes in the panorama of the surrounding Dolomites throughout the day. Your guide can shorten or adjust the route if needed, and the tour is organized only for your group, so the pace and stops are yours to set. At the end, if you choose it, you'll sit down to a South Tyrolean snack with local specialties: a way to finish the day that reflects the region itself.

What’s included

  • Bottled water throughout the hike.
  • air-conditioned vehicle transport to and from the Würzjoch trailhead.
  • a private guide fluent in English, Italian or German.
  • South Tyrolean snack with local specialties at the end if you choose it.
