The walk starts at the Archaeological Park and moves through Paestum's best-preserved structures: the Temple of Hera II (often still called the Temple of Poseidon), the Temple of Athena, also known as the Temple of Ceres from around 500 BC, and the amphitheater, forum and markets that filled the city when it was Poseidonia, a Greek colony that became the leading city of Magna Graecia. A licensed archaeological guide narrates the site over two hours, explaining what each structure was and how it fits into the city's history from the 7th century BC onward.

Skip-the-line entry means you walk past the queue at the gate, which saves time and lets the group move at the pace the guide sets.
