The experience
The route is built around the ferry crossing that cuts the day in half: you ride the western shore from Malcesine south to Limone sul Garda, then ferry across the water to the eastern side and loop back north. The DGtalguide™ app handles navigation and stops (no printed maps, no wrong turns), and it marks the viewpoints the operator has scouted, including a terrace 300 meters above the lake in a small village ranked among Italy's most beautiful. You stop where you want, take photos in the gorge, and the app tells you what you're looking at.
Limone sul Garda anchors the ferry leg: the town still has the old limonaia greenhouses where lemon trees grew centuries ago when the lake was a global citrus center. The ferry itself is part of the tour: photos from the water frame both shores at once. Malcesine, where you return, has the fortress and the same lemon-growing history. A table is already reserved for you at a partner trattoria on the Tremosine road, one of the world's most difficult drives by car but manageable by scooter, where you get a discount and authentic local food. The alpine meadows above the lake hold a cheese shop where you can taste and buy at a discount.
You ride new Vespa or Over Brera scooters equipped with a top box and phone charger. Fuel is included and mileage is unlimited. Helmets come with the bike. The 20% ferry discount applies to passenger tickets (vehicles are separate). The tour runs 7 to 8 hours. Scooter or motorbike riding experience is required. EU citizens can ride a 125cc scooter on a regular car license, but citizens of other countries need a motorcycle license or an international category B license.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24h before the start.
Can I ride a Vespa around Lake Garda on a regular car driver's license?
EU citizens with a category B car license can operate a 125cc scooter. Citizens of other countries need a category A or A1 motorcycle license, or an international category B license.
What is Limone sul Garda and why does the tour stop there?
Limone sul Garda is a lakeside town on the western shore famous for its old limonaia: ancient greenhouses where lemon trees were grown when Lake Garda was a global lemon-production center. The ferry departs from here to cross the lake, and the town's history and waterfront views make it a key stop on the route.
Does the tour include lunch, or do I pay separately at the restaurants?
A table is reserved for you at a partner trattoria on the Tremosine road, where you receive a discount on an authentic local meal. The average cost of lunch at these family-run restaurants is €15–€25. You pay directly at the restaurant, not as part of the tour price.
What happens if I don't want to take the ferry across the lake?
The ferry crossing is built into the route to see both shores in one day and avoid traffic on the roads. Ferry tickets are discounted 20% for passengers. You purchase them separately at the dock.
Is the DGtalguide™ app hard to use while riding?
The app provides navigation and information for the entire route. Your scooter comes equipped with a smartphone holder and charger, so you can mount your phone and follow the app's directions and stop recommendations hands-free.
What is the Tremosine road, and why is it special for a Vespa?
The Tremosine road is recognized as one of the most beautiful roads in the world but is difficult to navigate by car. On a scooter, you can stop at any point along the road and in the gorge to take photos. A partner restaurant there has a reserved table for you with a discount on local cuisine.
