The drive from Trieste to Lake Bled takes about two hours through Slovenian countryside. Once at the lake, you're dropped at the best vantage point and left to move at your own speed, whether that means a lakeside walk, a Pletna boat ride to the Assumption church on the island, a climb up to Bled Castle for the views, or simply sitting with a glass of Slovenian wine and the famous Kremsnita cake. The guide stays available but does not narrate the stops. The lake is yours to absorb.

Ljubljana Old Town comes next, with the van dropping you in the heart of the city center. Two hours is enough to walk the Triple Bridge, the Shoemakers Bridge, see Ljubljana Town Hall and the Cathedral, find the Robba Fountain, and sit by the Ljubljanica river where locals gather. Shopping and cafes are woven through the old streets. After that, the return to Trieste is a smooth ride back to your ship or accommodation, arriving roughly eight and a half hours after departure.

The van holds up to eight passengers and stays air-conditioned throughout. Your guide speaks English and can adjust stops or timing if the group agrees. This flexibility is built into the private format. Children under five pay only the insurance fee (1 euro). Pickup happens from the Trieste cruise terminal by default, but any location within Trieste town limits can be arranged at booking. Lake Bled gives you up to one to two hours to explore on your own once the van arrives. That window covers a walk around the shore, a Pletna boat trip to the island church, a visit to Bled Castle, or time to sit and eat the local Kremsnita cake. You choose what fits the time.

Can I take a boat to the island church at Lake Bled, or is that extra?

The Pletna boat ride to the island with the Assumption church is not included in the tour price. You pay for it separately if you decide to go. The same applies to Bled Castle and the funicular railway up to Ljubljana Castle.
