The experience

The boat leaves the Gulf of Gaeta and follows the coast past the medieval city's churches and bell towers, then reaches the foot of the Angevin-Aragonese Castle. From there the tour moves into the Marine Park of Monte Orlando, where the landscape changes: cliffs rise more than 50 meters straight from the sea, and the water opens into natural caves. The Grotta del Turco is the largest, and the Montagna Spaccata is a sanctuary built on an embedded rock between two cliff faces, its chapel dedicated to the Holy Crucifix suspended over the deep water.

The tour stops at Serapo Beach for a swim in clear water. Just offshore sits the Nave di Serapo, a thin rocky islet shaped like a ship, where the seabed slopes are full of dens for octopus and cuttlefish. Those who want to snorkel can dive in with the provided gear. Others can swim or float.
