A 4-hour e-bike tour departing from Levanto explores the Framura coast northwest of the Cinque Terre, visiting a 1500-year-old defensive tower, the hamlets of Framura, and the Mare e Monti cycle path: a flat, traffic-free route built into former railway tunnels. The tour includes a local guide in English, Italian or French; a coffee stop in a typical hamlet; and a wine and focaccia tasting at the Madonnina della Punta chapel in Bonassola Bay. The experience

The route stays away from the crowds that pack the Cinque Terre by heading northwest from Levanto instead. You'll ride through wild coastline and medieval hamlets, stopping first at a defensive tower in Framura that dates back 1500 years. The tower sits on a panoramic point overlooking the sea, and you'll have time for a coffee break in the small hamlet nearby before moving on.

The heart of the tour is the Mare e Monti cycle path, a flat, car-free route built using old railway tunnels that hug the coastline. The tunnels open onto views of the sea the whole way through. You'll pass through Bonassola, a Ligurian village with medieval roots, and finish at the Madonnina della Punta: a chapel built 400 years ago on a strategic promontory where you can see from Punta Mesco (where the Cinque Terre begin) all the way to the Portofino headland. Here you'll taste local white wine and assorted focaccias before riding back to Levanto.

E-bikes handle the terrain, so the flat surface of the Mare e Monti path is easy for most riders, including children. Your guide will explain the bikes and basic safety at the start in front of the garage in Levanto, then lead the group through the day. The tour ends back in Levanto, leaving you free to explore the town on your own.
