The experience
The boat leaves Trapani and heads straight to Favignana's water-side coves: places you cannot reach on foot. Cala Azzurra opens first, a deep blue pocket ringed by rock. Then Cala Bue Marino, where the seabed drops past old tuff quarries and an aperitif of fresh fruit and cold drinks arrives on deck. Cala Rossa follows, a natural pool so clear the bottom reads like a photograph. Scalo Cavallo is shallower, built for snorkeling among fish in water so transparent children can see the rocks beneath them. The Cave of Lovers sits at the end of a narrow passage. The skipper carries torches to light the stone vault and the natural formations that frame the entrance: accessible only by sea.
Between swims, the route includes a stop at the Mediterranean Tuna Plant, the site where canned tuna was invented, and time to dock at Favignana's private pier and walk the town's narrow streets if you choose. Lunch is your own decision at one of the local restaurants the operator has agreements with. The boat then crosses to Levanzo, the smallest of the three Egadi Islands, where Cala Fredda offers another swim in undisturbed water. At day's end, the skipper serves a second aperitif (prosecco and local products) before the return to Trapani.
You choose between two ribs: the Nesis (10m, up to 12 people) has a cabin, double sundeck and internal toilet. The BWA (9m, up to 10 people) is smaller and high-performance. Both carry professional snorkeling equipment, and both keep the bar open throughout: prosecco, two aperitifs, and non-alcoholic drinks always available. The skipper speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and one additional language.

Is this one for you?Choose the 10m Nesis if your group is larger or you want the cabin and internal toilet for comfort during the eight hours at sea. The 9m BWA suits smaller groups and those who prefer a nimbler, high-performance boat. Both are private, so the route and pace adapt to your group's interests, whether you want more time snorkeling at one cove or longer in Favignana town.
