The experience
The boat arrives with a full tank of fuel, snorkelling gear, life jackets, a Bluetooth stereo, an awning for shade and a shower on deck. You return it by 6:30pm with a full tank, and the rental price stays the same whether you take it out for one hour or eight. That flat rate means a short afternoon swim costs the same as a full day exploring from Cetara to Positano, so the length of your trip is entirely up to you.
Two options shape the day: rent the boat without a skipper and navigate yourself, or hire a skipper who knows the coast and speaks English or Italian. Without a skipper, you get the freedom to linger at whichever coves appeal to you (Conca dei Marini, Praino, Minori, Maiori), and drop anchor whenever the water looks right for snorkelling. With a skipper, you get someone who knows the hidden spots, handles the navigation and can point out the villages as you pass. Either way, the boat is yours alone. You're not sharing it with other groups.
The fleet ranges from small boats that don't require a license to larger vessels, so the operator can match you to what fits your group size and comfort level. Infants can travel on an adult's lap, and the boat is suitable for all fitness levels, though it's not recommended for people with spinal injuries or cardiovascular concerns. The shower on board means you can rinse off salt water before heading back, and the donut float gives kids something to hold onto in the water.
