Before you take the keys, you'll complete a short test drive with staff. This is not a formality: if they determine you cannot ride safely in Rome's traffic, the rental is cancelled and no refund is issued. The operator requires genuine hands-on experience riding an automatic scooter: experience with quads, jet skis, e-bikes or manual-gear motorbikes does not count as sufficient preparation. You must bring your original physical driver's license (EU/EEA riders) or national license plus a valid International Driving Permit (non-EU riders). Photos and digital copies are not accepted.
