The experience
You arrive at Rebelle HQ 15 minutes before your lesson start time to check in and get suited up in a wetsuit and boots. The coach meets you there and walks the group down to the beach together with the surfboards. The first 15–20 minutes happen on the sand: a safety briefing covers what you need to know about the ocean and the conditions that day, then the coach teaches the fundamentals of surfing. How to position yourself on the board, how to pop up, how to read the water. Everyone gets feedback tailored to what they're working on.
Then you paddle out into waist-depth white water for 80 minutes of practice. The coach stays in the water with you, calling out corrections, helping you catch waves, and building your confidence with each one. The lesson is built around what you need that day: if you're a complete beginner, you focus on the pop-up and staying on the board. If you've surfed before, the coach pushes you toward better technique and reading the swell. The ocean here is the Atlantic, and the waves are real, but the waist-depth white water keeps the learning manageable.
After the session, you head back to the heated changing rooms to rinse off in a hot shower. The whole experience is designed around you, not a group moving through a script, but a coach who knows how to teach and who adjusts the session to where you are. Session times are 10am or 2pm depending on the tide that day. The operator contacts you after booking to confirm which one works.
