The Experience

The evening starts when you arrive at the Belvedere Hotel on Great Denmark Street and head to the show entrance after the lift on your right. Doors open at 6:30pm, giving you time to settle at your table before dinner service begins at 6:45pm. The room is intimate—all seats face the raised stage directly, so there's no bad angle in the house. You'll order from a three-course menu of Irish home-cooked dishes (children receive two courses; infants' meals are not included).

At 8pm the show begins. The performance was created and choreographed by Jim Murrihy, director of Damhsa, with an original score. You'll see the full range of Irish dance styles: Sean nós, the old-style traditional solo form, alongside the jigs and reels most people recognize, all performed with the synchronized precision and driving rhythms that define modern Irish dancing. The band and dancers invite a few volunteers from the audience on stage to learn some basic steps—this is the highlight many people mention afterward. The show finishes by 9:45pm.

You'll need to arrange your own transport to the hotel; no pickup service is offered. Beverages, tea and coffee are not included in your ticket, though they're available to purchase throughout the evening. If you're bringing an infant, note that high chairs are available on request (subject to limited availability) and must be requested in your booking comments, and baby trolleys cannot fit in the room but the front desk will store them safely during the event.
