The Experience

Dalkey Island sits off to the side, and Joyce's Martello Tower marks a point you'd never think to look for from land. The Poolbeg Lighthouse is the thing that makes you understand why people talk about this bay the way they do; it's not the landmark itself, it's the way it sits in the middle of everything, and suddenly the geography of Dublin makes a kind of sense it doesn't from the streets.
