The experience

The tour departs Dublin Heuston Station and arrives in Cork at 09:35 on day one. You'll visit Blarney Castle, built over 600 years ago, where you can explore the gardens and kiss the famous stone said to bestow eloquence on those who do. After lunch at Blarney Village, the coach takes you through Cork City to Cobh, where entry to the Cobh Heritage Centre is included: a restored Victorian railway station and transatlantic terminal that tells the story of the Titanic's final port of call, Irish emigration, and the Great Famine. You'll overnight in a Killarney bed-and-breakfast.

Day two circles the Ring of Kerry, one of Ireland's most essential routes. Collected from your accommodation at 09:45, you'll drive through mountain passes and valleys along Dingle Bay and Kenmare Bay, passing through villages like Glenbeigh, Waterville, and Sneem. The tour includes views of Carrantuohill, Ireland's highest mountain at 1,041 metres, and returns via Ladies View and the Lakes of Killarney through the Oakwoods of Killarney National Park. Day three takes the same route to the Dingle Peninsula, an Irish-speaking region (Gaeltacht) scattered with pre-historic huts and forts including the Gallarus Oratory. Slea Head, the most westerly point in Europe, offers views of the Blasket Islands and the rocks beyond.

Day four starts early: you're collected between 07:00 and 07:15 and transferred to Limerick City, where you join the main coach for the Cliffs of Moher and Galway Bay tour. A short city tour of Limerick precedes a guided tour of Bunratty Castle and its folk park, a replica 19th-century village with buildings dismantled and rebuilt brick by brick from locations across the region. Lunch stops at a traditional Irish pub in Doolin before you reach the Cliffs of Moher, among the highest sea cliffs in Western Europe. From there, the coast road passes through the Burren (a national park whose name means "rocky place" in Irish) known for its rare flora. You'll arrive in Galway shortly after 17:00 with time to explore the streets around Eyre Square.

Is this one for you? This tour departs and returns from Dublin Heuston Station, so you don't need a car or a separate transfer to start. You board the train at the city centre. The fixed itinerary and included accommodation settle the planning. The guide and host on board handle the route, leaving you to move between seats and coaches at each stop.

Top questions

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (5 to 15 years); Infant (under 5).

What is the Blarney Stone and why do people kiss it?

Blarney Castle's famous stone is said to bestow the gift of eloquence on those who kiss it. The castle itself, built over 600 years ago by Cormac McCarthy, sits in gardens you can explore during the stop on day one.

Does the tour include meals?

Lunch is not included, but the itinerary builds in time for meals at each stop. Day one recommends lunch at Blarney Village, day four includes a lunch stop at a traditional Irish pub in Doolin, and there are tea and photo stops throughout the Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula days.

What is the Cobh Heritage Centre and why is it included?

The Cobh Heritage Centre occupies a restored Victorian railway station and transatlantic terminal in the town of Cobh. Entry is included on day one. The centre tells the story of the Titanic's final port of call, Irish emigration during the Great Famine, and the sinking of the Lusitania off the Cork coast.

What makes the Dingle Peninsula different from the Ring of Kerry?

The Dingle Peninsula has the most rugged Atlantic coastline in Kerry and is one of Ireland's Irish-speaking regions (Gaeltacht). It's scattered with pre-historic sites like the Gallarus Oratory and forts, and Slea Head, the most westerly point in Europe, offers views toward America that echo the route taken by millions of Irish emigrants.

What is the Burren and what will I see there?

The Burren is a national park whose name means "rocky place" in Irish. Located between the Cliffs of Moher and Galway on day four, it's noted for its diverse flora with few parallels elsewhere in Ireland or Europe, and the tour makes a photo stop there as time permits.
