The experience

The route moves through four regions over seven days, each one built around a major pilgrimage site. You start at the Maya Devi Temple in Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha, then travel to Pokhara for sightseeing at Phewa Lake, Tal Barahi Temple on its island, and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. From there, the tour heads into Mustang Valley's dramatic Himalayan terrain, passing through Jomsom before reaching Muktinath Temple, one of the most sacred destinations for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. The final stretch returns you through Kathmandu, stopping at Manakamana Temple on the way.

In Kathmandu itself, you'll visit Pashupatinath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, Boudhanath Stupa (a major center of Tibetan Buddhist culture) Swayambhunath Stupa on its hilltop overlooking the valley, and Kathmandu Durbar Square with its traditional Newari architecture and ancient palaces. A free afternoon in Thamel, the city's main tourist district, gives you time to browse local handicrafts and markets before the final overnight stay. Private AC transport in an Innova Crysta vehicle runs the entire tour, sized to your group. Breakfast and dinner come daily at your 3-star hotels, leaving lunch to your choice.

The guide speaks English or Hindi throughout, and children from age four are welcome. Note that entry fees for some attractions, including the cable car, are paid on-site rather than included upfront. The itinerary is fixed, so all three Pokhara stops and the full Kathmandu circuit fit inside the week without rushing.
