The Experience

The salty breeze hit me first—soft and warm, even though it was barely 8:30 in the morning. I met our photographer right by the old coconut stand near the main entrance to Benaulim Beach. He had this easy way about him, chatting about the best light and how early mornings here are quieter, just a few fishermen pulling in their nets and some locals jogging along the shore. We picked a spot where the sand felt cool underfoot, not too far from those colorful fishing boats that always seem to end up in everyone’s favorite shots.

I’m not usually comfortable in front of a camera, but our photographer made it feel more like hanging out than posing. He suggested simple things—walking along the waterline, laughing with my friend as we dodged tiny crabs, even sitting on an old wooden log half-buried in the sand. At one point, a chai seller passed by with his cart and we grabbed a quick cup between shots; you could smell cardamom and ginger mixing with the sea air. The whole thing felt relaxed—no rush, just real moments. If you want something more private or fancy, they can even set up at your resort (just check with your hotel first).
