The experience

The tour opens at Athirappilly Waterfalls, known as the Niagara of India, then moves into Munnar's rolling hills for an overnight stay in a 3-star hotel. Day two centers on Eravikulam National Park: a short trek through native habitat, a walk across tea estates with photo stops at viewpoints, and a visit to a tea museum. You stay a second night in Munnar before traveling to Alleppey by noon on day three.

The houseboat is where the pace shifts. You board by midday, cruise the backwaters with live meals prepared onboard, and watch the landscape drift past from the deck. Dinner arrives as evening settles in, and you sleep aboard. On the final day, you leave the houseboat and head back to Kochi by evening for the cultural finale: Kathakali performers in full makeup, a Theyyam display, and a live demonstration of Kalaripayattu, Kerala's traditional martial art.
